We'll meet at 6:30 for an informal reception with some wine and antipasto. Then on to the sunshine and warmth inherent in the Italian food and wine. Bring your questions and answers to this trip to sunny Italy!

Schedule, calendar and pictures of our first blind tasting host's facility are posted in pictures. The dates set out on the calendar are all FIRM. The first site, Carmine's, meets on Wednesdays. COST FOR ALL CARMINE'S TASTINGS IS $25 per person (plus tax and gratuity). This includes an opening wine/hors d'oeuvres reception at 6:30 pm, six quality wines in the blind tasting and four specially prepared appetizers with the blind tasting.

Make your reservations by emailing winebatden@gmail.com. Please help us out---if you are coming, make a reservation---AND---if you make a reservation, please show up. Hosts of these events have to allocate staff in the appropriate numbers and no reservations or no shows adversely affect these working women and men.

We will start the blind tastings at 7:10 and wrap up at about 8:30 to 8:45. There will be a discounted dinner package for those who wish to stay for dinner.

Because of their great value and limited seating, Wine Bat events often sell out in advance. To make sure you get first notification about events near you, sign-up for a free account at meet-up (link http://www.wine.meetu...) to stay informed of all our upcoming events.

Sunny Italy was fun. We had some EXCELLENT food along with some good wines including 2 Sicilian wines our wine bats hadn't previously tried. Those who have attended so far have been a great group. Interesting, informed and very diverse in their professions, backgrounds and tastes. If you haven't been at a tasting yet, we invite you to join the group. Next stop--Australia."

Several surprises in store for all you tasting bats. A different pattern, some wine surprises, some food surprises and, if all goes as planned a prize. If a bat nose/palate can tell the "perfesser" what grape or grapes the mystery winewine comes from we shall present them a "bat prize".
