This year's Wine Amplified Festival will intensify its sexy brand of approachable, high-energy wine tastings by bringing in more than 50 wineries, showcasing more than 120 unique wines, and combine it with an incredible evening of live music from multi-platinum recording artist The Gin Blossoms and special guests and MySpace music sensations Sherwood.
The Music:
This year's headliner, The Gin Blossoms exploded onto the mainstream airwaves in the mid nineties with a barrage of top ten hits including Hey Jealousy, Allison Road, Found Out About You, Until I Hear It From You, and Follow You Down, among others. After a few years off, the band is back, and better than ever, coming off of their latest album release, Major Lodge Victory, one of the top 10 independent albums of 2006.
Special guests Sherwood are set to kick the music on the main-stage off in style with their melodic blend of pop-rock often compared to Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday, and Yellowcard. Their sound caught the eye of MySpace founder Tom Anderson in 2006 and eventually led to their signing as the first band on MySpace Records. The band's profile has generated over 13 million plays since.
The evenings live music will kick off on the main-stage with an opening performance by Rock 'n Roll Wine favorite Jeremy Cornwell. Up and coming rockers A Penny for Jane and Rock 'n Roll Wine veterens will get things rolling on the acoustic Lagoon Stage.
The Venue:
Mandalay Bay Beach offers one of the most unique outdoor concert stages in the country, set amidst the world-famous resort’s beach and lagoon. The Mandalay Bay Beach Stage rises over the signature sand and surf wave pool and concert-goers are invited to sit on the Beach or wade in the surf and listen to the music from the cool confines of Mandalay Bay’s famous 1.6 million gallon wavepool. With more than 11 acres of surf and sand, there's no better spot to dig your toes into the sand, sample some of the world’s finest wines, and listen to some amazing live tunes.

Confirmed participating wineries to date include Michael David, K Vintners, Trinchero Family Estate, Rodney Strong, Torres, Joseph Drouhin, Murray Street, Layer Cake, Clos du Bois, Landmark, Justin, Cline, Wilson Creek, Dr. Lossen, Icon, Stoneclap, Mason, Otter Cove, Radog and more to be announced.
