About Westchester Wine Meetup

The Westchester Wine Meetup Group has been established to fill a void in our area. Sure, you can find dozens of wine events in NYC every week, but Westchester is full of sleepy towns on weeknights. We're here to stir up some trouble and get people out to taste and share. Every month we invite people to bring a bottle of wine which we share and compare. Usually we have a selected region or varietal as a topic, and we often try to taste the wines blindly. We are fortunately free of the snobbery or pretension that scare most novices, although we do help each other to develop our vocabularies.

Sometimes we serve a sparkling wine at the very beginning to cleanse the palate. We ask that people bring an appetizer to share or, in lieu of a bottle, a dish. A member may also bring $20 if they give the organizer advance notice. This allows the organizer to select a greater variety of wines.

We sometimes collaborate with other groups or meet at a restaurant. We look forward to your visit soon!
