Since the meet-up at Uncorked, we have received a lot of requests for information about our next meet-up. I'm going to do one at my house in mid-June (details to follow), but to keep the socializing going, I thought we again could take advantage of the qualities of one of our local venues.
Taste Select Wines has a great selection of wines by the bottle and the glass, and a very yummy food menu. They also have a feature that is unique (at least in downtown wine bars). They have wine dispensers that both keep the bottles at the ideal temperature and preserve the wine from heavy oxidation, and also dispense them in 1oz. pours, ideal for tasting. This allows people to taste what they want--red, white, and/or rose--at their own speed. It also allows people to taste wines that they might not ordinarily buy by the bottle.
In any case, let's do a post-work tasting there next Friday. (Due to my work schedule, I probably can't get there before 6:30, hence the event time, but happy hour at Taste is 4 to 7pm, in case you want to go early.)
Taste is on the ground floor of the CSC building, in the middle of the Cesar Chavez side. Parking is available, just around the corner under City Hall.
