About Austin Wine Tasters

This group is devoted to wine tasting. We will typically taste wines of a particular type or varietal.

With the blind tastings, you will know the type, but the identity of all the bottles will be hidden. As a group, we will sample and review each of the wines. Similarly, the open tasting wines will follow a theme, but you'll see the bottles and the information they provide.

Both types of tastings are fun, for different reasons: blind tastings, because they can reveal unexpected and unknown favorites, and non-blind, as they allow people to focus less on the tasting process, and more on the socializing.

We will have tastings at restaurants, wine bars, and in member homes. When we do the tastings in member homes, we will rely on members to bring bring wines within the theme of the tasting.

**In order to cover the meet-up fees, we will charge $1 per participant per event.**
