What: Wines from Spain and Portugal When: Sat. Nov. 21, 2009 – 6:30 to 9PM Where: Redwood Shores – Exact address to be emailed to those who have paid.
We're having a 3rd wine-tasting party at a scenic clubhouse on a lagoon in Redwood Shores with the theme "Wines from Spain and Portugal". Each guest is asked to bring at least a 1/2 bottle of their favorite Spanish or Portuguese wine or port ($10+). People coming in pairs can bring 1 bottle per couple, etc. Parking is extremely limited so guests are strongly encouraged to carpool, not to mention you could find someone with whom to split the bottle of wine. Substantial appetizers (including paella and cured ham) will be provided.
To pay for the room reservation, food, and cleanup, as well as get a firm headcount for ordering appetizers, payment is required in advance via Paypal ($10.60 per person includes Paypal fees). Refunds can be requested up to 48 hours before the event.
“ Bob did a fantastic job organizing and planning this event. He made sure every detail was perfect, from having a wide range of Spanish wines to taste to having authentic Spanish and Portuguese appetizers. I met a lot of fun people there. Hats off to you, Bob! ”
“ Many thanks to Bob for the setup and all the hard work. Also thanks to everyone who brought great spainish and Portuguese wines to share with the group. Badge of shame goes to those who think that Gallo Port or Gutter Home White Zinfandel is made outside of the USA. ”
“ 24 bottles with only 2 whites, both Portuguese. One bottle of port was enjoyed by all. Thanks to everyone for coming and making the evening a success! ”
“ Some very interesting wines, some excellent hors d'ouvres, and a good crowd to enjoy it all. Thanks, Bob.
Didn't know that they had White Zinfandel in Spain and Portugal! ”
