On the last Wednesday of each month we present an array of limited releases from a carefully selected group of artisan wineries representing different appellations. Think of it as a "Wine Trunk Show" with munchies. [We no longer partner with WineSocials]

This month we will showcase both imports and some local gems. Members can chat with the winemakers from: Chameleon Cellars, Eagle Eye Wines, and Odisea Wine Company , each pouring four signature wines. And departing from our previous format, we will also feature wines from Italian boutique wineries, poured by Diane Denham, President of Grail Wine Selections. Available for sampling are...

Chameleon Cellars 2006 Sauvignon Blanc North Coast
Chameleon Cellars 2005 Carignane North Coast
Chameleon Cellars 2005 Zinfandel Napa Valley
Chameleon Cellars 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley

Eagle Eye 2005 Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley
Eagle Eye 2007 Muscat Canelli Napa Valley
Eagle Eye 2005 Voluptuous red blend Napa Valley
Eagle Eye 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford

Odisea 2007 Veritable Quandry White
Odisea 2006 Veritable Quandry Red
Odisea 2006 Temporary Insanity Temparillo blend
Odisea 2006 Melt Down Late Harvest Viognier Ice Wine

Terrre Magre NV Raboso Rosé Frizzante, Veneto, Italy
Le Solive 2005 Vernaccia, San Gimignano, Italy
Sangervasio 2004 Rosso Super Tuscan, Tuscany, Italy
Odoardi 2003 Vigne Garrone, Gaglioppo, Calabria, Italy

I thought this was one of Tom's best events. Lots of wines to compare & I really enjoy meeting the winemakers at smaller wineries. Keep up the good work Tom!

This time each participant will be given a tasting card with the wines listed but no pricing. Members and their guests will be asked to list their first, second and third favorite out of the 16 wines being poured. We will then provide the pricing information. We want to debunk the recent studies that seem to show that most wine drinkers are influenced primarily by the cost of the wine i.e., pricier is better. The next influence is context. I say it is ~taste~ which can vary based on experience.

This was my first meeting and it was quite nice. I enjoyed the wine selections, the atmosphere and all and all was quite relaxing.
    •  Really enjoyed this chance to try some good wines and meet the vintners. Since most people brought a friend, it wasn't as easy to meet others at this meet-up, but as the wine started pouring, that helped!

Swell evening enjoying the art on the wall and in the glass. We also met the artists of all the media. But it is proving too difficult to turn out enough folks to justify the attendance of the vintners. We also suffered from the no shows. So the next gathering will be our last.

Had nice time, the people were fun. Venue was so-so. And the wine for the most part was mediocre. Like the idea of boutique wineries, but would be nice to have better quality.
    •  Nice gathering, but I was not impressed by the majority of the wines.
    •  nice selection of wines and love the location

Some very interesting blends were sereved. I had no previous exposure to these wine makers. Found some to be very talented. Wines offered for sale represented very good value.
    •  Everyone was very informative and a pleasure to talk with. Fabulous wine selections. A nice mix of guests as well...definitely plan on attending in the future. Great job Tom! Thank you.
