I will be in the front room until the dinner begins. I will have a name tag.

This is going to be a fabulous 4 course dinner with 4 amazing wines you will not find in the stores.

The best local ingredients - and diners with discerning palates - get the special attention they deserve at this chef-driven restaurant. Douglass Dick, who will be receiving the Chef of the Year award from Pittsburgh Magazine for an unprecedented THIRD time in a row this year, searches the markets each day and creates a new menu every night. To get an idea of some past dishes, please see this review from the Post Gazette.

Stan the Wine Man will be presenting four of his wines, at least 3 of which he had a part in creating.
Stan the Wine Man's wines are consistently rated in the 90's, and two wines in his collection have just been recognized as being the best Red wine and the best White wine in Italy.

RSVP is required. Space is limited to 12 people. Payment must be received to ensure your RSVP.

The cost of $125 includes dinner, wine, tax and gratuity, as well as an amazing dining and wine experience. Contact me if you prefer to pay by check.

1. (UPDATED May 5th)Gabriella Mayr Pas Dose' Riserva Metodo Classico 2003 Alto Adige Region of Italy
Made in collaboration with Stan The Wine Man. Only 600 bottles produced.
Aged on the lees for 3 years and one in bottle. 50% chardonnay & 50% pinot bianco. No oak ageing so as not to mask the fresh fruit flavors. Our sparkling wine has been compared to Bollinger.
The wine is made by Lorenz Martini (Gabriella is his wife) who has been the winemaker for Josef Niedermayr for 20 years BUT has been making one sparkling wine under his own name. The one he makes has too much residual sugar to suit me so I convinced him to make a Pas Dose' (no sugar) and age it an extra year to get a Riserva designation. Retail price: $52.10
2. SAN BIAGIO BAROLO 1999 (la Morra District) $48.00
Only 350 cases made.
QUOTE from The Wine News Magazine:
"Warm aromas of dried fruit and lots of red licorice with notes of fig and oak char. Velvety texture and citrusy acidity frame flavors of tart cherry and cedar. Youthful finish shows smoky notes."
Wine News Magazine Rated 91 POINTS

3. PODERI LA COLLINA LABBRA DI GIADA DOLCETTO DI DOGLIANI 2004 (Piedmont Region) $32.35
Only 1140 bottles produced! This is the only dolcetto that is aged for 15 months in oak. In fact, in both 225 liter and 500 liter French oak barrels. We have been making this wine since 1996 AND we are the ONLY ones doing this successfully!! Winemaker, Giorgio Marenga is a genius in the formulation of this wine. These were all my ideas but Giorgio had the guts to put my ideas into operation. He deserves all the credit because the work involved to produce this wine in this manner is nothing short of a miracle.
Quote from The Wine News:
Well-meshed aromas of mixed berries, earth and espresso. Lushly textured flavors of cherry, cedar and tobacco. Food-friendly acidity apparent in the frothy finish." RATED 92 POINTS
4. SAN RUSTICO AMARONE GLI OCCHI BLU DI SABRINA 2000 (Veneto Region) $68.50
Only 600 bottles produced! "The Blue Eyes Of Sabrina".The ONLY Amarone made like this.
We do 2 fermentations, the first on the must for about 40 days and then the juice is transferred into 225 liter French oak casks AND 225 liter American oak AND 500 liter French oak casks for the second fermentation and just left in these barrels for about 36-40 months, then all the wine is transferred into stainless steel tanks to age all together for up to 2 additional years and then bottled.
Quote from The Wine News:
"Classic bouquet of macerated dried cherry, Worcestershire sauce, walnut and bittersweet chocolate scents. Lively, just-crushed cherry, strawberry, citrus peel and mineral flavors. Intense finish coats the palate in mocha." RATED 94 POINTS
