At the last meeting, we discussed the possibility of moving to whites with the warmer weather. What if we try some Rose as well? I read about them in an earlier discussion, but don't know much about them. I've never been crazy about white zin, but maybe i need to learn more about this genre. Maybe we can add a bottle or two to the white clan. What do you think?

Hi All:
I'm not very fond of Rose, but am certainly willing to try and learn about them. Knowledge is power :) Cookie Stringfellow |

I am very interested in trying some Rose's. Great Idea! From what I've read and tasted recently, Rose's are becoming very popular "summer wines". They are not sweet like white zins(ick) or Reislings.
I do remember that they are typically made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and sometimes Pinot Noir grapes. So, if you're a red lover, you may in fact enjoy a nice Rose. My favorite is from a winery in Napa called Peju. Their Rose is called Provence and is made from Cabernet Sauv. grapes. My 2 cents as a newbie to the group! |
