FUN, FUN, FUN

Yes, we finally have an event posted! Yea! laughing

In the middle of San Francisco Bay sits Angel Island State Park, offering spectacular views of the San Francisco skyline, the Marin Headlands and Mount Tamalpais.

The island is also alive with history. Three thousand years ago the island was a fishing and hunting site for Coastal Miwok Indians. It was later a haven for Spanish explorer Juan Manuel de Ayala, a cattle ranch, and a U.S. Army post.

Visit Angel Island State Park, the "Jewel of San Francisco Bay", by taking the 10-minute ferry ride from downtown Tiburon! The time above is suggested as departure from Sacramento as it's approximately 1.5 Hours drive. Let's meet at the ferry about 10:30 and take the 11:00 over to Angels Island where we can enjoy the trails that wind around the island. I suggest arrange to arrive about 10:00 to park and walk to the ferry building unless meeting us at Blackies Pasture Rd. (see below). We will come back on the 5:20 ferry (last departure). The ferry leaves every hour, so if you don't make the 11:00 or you have to leave before 5:20, you can. The ferry schedule can be found at Schedule Information

Fare: $13.50/per person roundtrip, plus $1.00/bicycle. This includes Angel Island State Park admission.

Bring your picnic fixings and WINE, sunscreen, beach towels for sunbathing, sandcastle tools, hiking shoes if you want to hike, and of course bike if you want to bike. cool

* Bicycles can be brought to the island on the ferry and used on the island's main roads. Bikes can also be rented seasonally.
* Dogs are not allowed on the island, service animals excepted.
* Roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, and scooters are prohibited.
* Bring camp stove or charcoal, no wood fires allowed.
* Night travel after sunset on the island is prohibited in some areas for park security and public safety.

More info on the park can be found here: Visiting the Island
