- Hi, my name is Tom. What I love about wine is its almost infinite variety, and the conviviality it inspires. I am recently divorced, and want to re-engage the world, have some more fun, and meet new people.
- Do you have a favorite region for wine and if so where is it?

I don't have a favorite region or style - what I love is the variety. Given how outrageous prices of great wines have become, I love finding lesser known regions producing good wines at low prices. Right now, reds from Spain (e.g. Yecla region).
- What wine do you prefer red or white?

Reds for their richness, complexity, & variety of styes, but I drink more whites because of what I eat. I shun chardonnay (except Burgundy when someone else is paying); prefer crisp whites like Marlborough sauvignon blancs, but LOVE Alsacian whites!

Wrong question to ask me. The beauty of wine is its variety. That being said, I'll take a bottle of Chateau de Beaucastel any day.
