We went out to Hiddencroft last year just after they opened and its time to re-visit :). They have a really good Chambourcin and a beautiful Gazeebo (assuming the weather is kind) on which to spend the afternoon hanging out.

These trips are always a lot of fun and we look forward to seeing you all there (well the 20 of you that sign up first).

ABOUT MIKE STORCK Watch a video clip! - Mike at the D.C. Improv

After being voted Funniest Comedian in Baltimore and being invited to the Boston Comedy Festival, Mike was selected to perform in the finals for the Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival. After moving to New York City, he was quickly recognized as a comedic talent to be reckoned with, making a name for himself in the circuit as a strong writer with the performance to match. Mike auditioned for the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado, along with 300 other hopefuls, and was the only performer selected to compete in the finals. In 2004, Mike was the winner of the Carnival Comedy Challenge in Charlotte, NC, which gained him even more acclaim in the entertainment industry. Mike continues to work the comedy club circuit in New York city and comedy clubs across the country, continually writing and performing new material.

Wine and cheese are such a great pairing that I am surprised there aren't more places like Cheesetique around. I've heard a lot of good things about this place and I think it is time we paid them a visit :).

Hopefully, we'll see you all there.

Four bands! - Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band, Andrew McKnight, The Woodshedders, and Steve DeVries. Also on hand will be heirloom-quality folk artisans, an evening open jam session (outdoors), a documentary film presentation on the Shenandoah river (indoors) and a BBQ smoker. Tix $10 each.

The event starts at 1000, but since that is WAYYYYYY too early to be awake on a weekend, we are going to meet at 1:00 :). You are absolutely welcome to get there early. Knowing how the music events are at Notaviva are, this will be lots of fun.

Sadly, it does not look like I will get the answer to my burning question: which Notaviva wine pairs well with Britney Spears.

We are going to give DC's newest wine bar, Room 11, a test drive. There has been a lot of talk about this new bar opening up on 11th street and I think we should see if it lives up to the hype. For those of you who have been following build out on their construction blog this will be a good time to check out the finished product.

I'll call them and let them know we are coming (AND make sure they still know we are coming the day before).

Looking forward to seeing the DC regulars out there!

Dry Mill Winery is another new Loudoun County winery we have not been to yet. Dry Mill Winery is located in a restored stable that used to house the horses of the Loudoun Hunt Club.

Dean and Nancy are really great and love to talk about the stable and wines, so I think we are in for a treat.

Because of a conflict with another event, I am afraid I am going to have to push this event back a week.

Tickets are available online or at the gate, children under 12 are free.
